Muhammad Faruk Khan is a Bangladeshi politician and current Commerce Minister of Bangladesh Government.[1] Khan is a former Parliament member of Bangladesh Government and the current Commerce & Industry Secretary of the Awami League.[2]

Khan was born on September 18 in 1951 in Dhaka. Lt. Col (retd) Faruk Khan holds a Masters in Defense Studies from Defense Services and Staff College in Mirpur. He served as a commissioned officer in the then Pakistan Army. His father, late Serajul Karim Khan (Nanna Khan) and mother late Khaleda Karim Khan are well known for their social work. He is the eldest of seven brothers.[3]
Khan is parliament member and the Minister of Commerce of Bangladesh Government. He was elected from the seat of Gopalgonj-01 [4] with 99% votes the third time in a row at December 29, 2008’s National Election. Lt. Col Faruk Khan (retd) pledged that the reduction of prices of basic foods and commodities are a priority in his term.[5] He is a retired Colonel of Bangladesh Army.
Muhammad Faruk Khan happily married to Nilufer Faruk Khan, a social worker. She is involved in various types of social works at rural level of Gopalgonj district. They have two daughters Qantara K Khan and Qareena K Khan.[6]
